Laser Hair Removal
Remove hair by targeting the dark pigment within the hair shaft. At Taylor Drive Facial Aesthetics, we have three different types of lasers to accommodate a variety of skin and hair types.
The bright flash of light by the IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) converts energy to heat and destroys the hair follicle for long-lasting results. Perfect for lighter skin types and smaller treatment areas.
Our Primelase Diode laser is known for speed and efficiency. We are able to treat large areas of the body effectively in minutes.
ND:YG is our laser for even the darkest of skin types. ND:YG is safe for all skin colors and can target dark hairs on dark skin with precision and care.
Is laser hair removal right for me?
Laser Hair Removal works best on darker hairs. Grey, blonde, red or strawberry blond hairs may not respond well to treatment.
Because we have multiple lasers we are able to treat all skin types and colors safely and effectively. Your technician will determine which laser is best for your skin and hair type at your first visit.
How many treatments will I need?
Hair grows in different cycles, so multiple treatments, spaced about a month apart are best for long-term results. Some patients respond well to 3-4 treatments, some require more. There are many variables such as hair color/thickness, hormones, and even previous hair removal methods. Your technician will work with you to develop a care plan and will reevaluate month to month how the plan is working.
How do I prepare for my hair removal treatment?
It’s important that while you are in treatments, you shave hair within 24 hours of your treatment. Also, to keep your hairs in the ideal growth stage for removal, avoid tweezing, bleaching, depilatories or waxing hair between treatments. If hair removal is needed between your treatments, shaving is best.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
One of the most exciting things about our lasers is just how comfortable the treatments are! Most of our clients report little to no pain whatsoever. Some will experience a warm or “bright” sensation, but say that it is very tolerable.
Some areas can be more sensitive, but your technician will work with you and your settings to find something that is as comfortable as possible while still being effective at destroying the hair follicles.
