Botox And Summer: What You Need to Know

Thinking about getting Botox this summer? Whether you’re new to neurotoxins or a seasoned fan, warm-weather months bring a few important things to consider when it comes to timing, sun exposure, and travel plans. Here’s what you need to know before you book.

☀️ Can I Be in the Sun After Botox?

Yes—but timing matters.
Right after your Botox treatment, it’s best to avoid:

  • Prolonged direct sun exposure
  • Heat (including tanning beds and saunas)
  • Exercise or activities that raise body temperature

Why? Because increased heat and circulation can interfere with how the Botox settles into your muscles. We recommend giving your skin 24–48 hours to recover before spending extended time in the sun.

Pro tip: Bring a wide-brimmed hat, wear sunglasses, and always use a medical-grade SPF (we’ll even gift you a travel-sized kit when you book in May—see below!).

✈️ Traveling After Botox: Is It Safe?

Absolutely! You can travel after Botox—but here are a few key points:

  • Wait at least 4 hours before lying flat (including naps on planes).
  • Avoid flying within the first 24 hours if possible, especially after a first-time treatment, in case of swelling or bruising.
  • If you’re flying shortly after your appointment, keep your head elevated, avoid alcohol, and stay well-hydrated.

Bonus Tip: Botox has virtually zero downtime, making it ideal for travel prep—you can get it and go!

🗓️ Planning Botox Around Summer Events

Whether you’ve got a wedding, vacation, or class reunion on the calendar, timing your Botox is key.
Botox takes 7–14 days to fully settle, so book your appointment 2–3 weeks before any big event for optimal results.
